The most successful University athletic programs always have a committed community behind them. Whether through ticket sales, donations or general support, the annual consistency and strength of that community involvement is the most significant variable in determining a University’s financial ability to sustain or improve its’ competitive position.
We have all enjoyed those seasons when Sun Devil athletics is at the top. It was during those periods of time where community involvement with Sun Devil Athletics was most significant. The Sun Devil Club is seeking your personal commitment to make that community connection more permanent.
Now is the time to make a difference. Over the last 24 months, with Arizona State’s encouragement and support, we have worked to streamline the support for Sun Devil Athletics under one entity, the Sun Devil Club. The most significant of those changes is to once again make the Sun Devil Club community directed and controlled. It is being designed to be inclusive, sustainable, fun and governed by the community.
Our strategy focuses on our significant advantage, strength in numbers. Let’s build a broad base membership reflective of our thriving community’s population and our over 300,000 alumni. Very few programs across the country have the opportunity we do. It’s time to channel that strength.
Your commitment is simple. We need you and those in your circle of influence to buy $10 a month or $100 annual memberships. The number of members we can have will be staggering to our competition. These funds will be used by the athletic department with a financial goal of reaching and maintaining a budget that is in the top 15 nationally. The Sun Devil Club will also use this money in outreach efforts to strengthen youth athletics in our community.
This is your community asset. We succeed with your participation. This effort is about the impact we can make together by growing our membership. Please join the Sun Devil Club and then do your part to help us find other members: friends, family, colleagues and neighbors. You will find on our website that the Sun Devil Club will be providing “member only” benefits from local businesses, that alone would justify your membership. However, the best benefit is confidence that you are making your community a better place.
