Establishment of Young Professionals Group Endowment Shows Impact of Dedicated Alumni

The Sun Devil Club Young Professionals Group (YPG) has signed a pledge agreement to create and fund an endowed scholarship, the Young Professionals Group Endowment, in support of a Sun Devil student-athlete.

“YPG’s strongest initiative has been to empower young professionals to become supporters of Sun Devil student-athletes by philanthropically contributing on an annual basis,” Nicole Almond Anderson,’04,’09 MNpS, current President of YPG, said. “Starting the Young Professionals Group Endowment shows the incredible impact a group of spirited young alumni and passionate fans can have, as well as proving that these individuals can truly be a catalyst for ensuring the Sun Devil Athletics program can continue to thrive.”

YPG has pledged a total of $12,500 for the next five years with the scholarship going to support a Sun Devil Football student-athlete. The pledged support is also part of the Sun Devil Matching Gift Program, which thanks to the Sun Angel Endowment allows the Sun Devil Club to match Young Professionals Group Endowment dollar-for-dollar.

“This group has been able to raise a considerable amount of money through membership dues and fundraising events like Devils’ Ball,” Almond Anderson said. “YPG members should take pride in knowing they are directly supporting the long-term sustainability of the athletics department.”

All active YPG members will be recognized for their role in establishing the Young Professionals Group Endowment with an on-field presentation in the second quarter of the Territorial Cup at Sun Devil Stadium on November 25. The Territorial Cup will serve as the capstone to the Sun Devil Club’s three-month ‘Why I Give’ campaign as the week of Nov. 20-25 focuses on endowments.

The Sun Devil Club Young Professionals Group (YPG) is a membership-based organization for Arizona State University alumni, fans and donors, ages 21 to 40. Its members are often your "die hard" Devils; they bleed maroon and gold and are looking to build a stronger affinity for Sun Devil Athletics by giving back through philanthropy and collaborative engagement. The SDCYPG offers networking opportunities and several unique, fun, and engaging events throughout the year, some of which include the popular Devils' Ball, an annual golf tournament, and home-game football tailgates! Membership dues are $300 annually ($25/month) and support the Sun Devil Club and Sun Devil Athletics.
