Membership Growth in Young Professionals Group Leads to Increased Opportunities

The Sun Devil Club Young Professionals Group (YPG) is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing social networks for Sun Devil donors and supporters. YPG recently reached the 60-member mark, and its continued growth in membership has enabled the group to use the funds raised to support Sun Devil Athletics.

“When the group was envisioned six years ago, this is exactly what we had hoped for,” said Tyler Sublette ‘07, one of the founding members of YPG. “We wanted a group where all younger Sun Devil fans could come together, network, and collectively use our resources to support Sun Devil Athletics.”

So far this year the group has signed a pledge agreement to support an endowed scholarship for a Sun Devil Football student-athlete through the Sun Devil Matching Gift Program and has provided funds for the women’s soccer program.

In the short term, the group hopes to continue to use the funds generated to support additional Sun Devil Athletics projects, including funds for Sun Devil Hockey to re-brand their office area for recruiting purposes.

“Being involved with this group is tremendous for me to connect with some of my closest friends while also supporting one of my biggest passions in Sun Devil Athletics, “said Brian Irby ‘08, another founding member of YPG.  “If we can collectively have all of Sun Devil Nation doing a small part in financially supporting our programs then the impact we can have will be huge.  YPG is a small avenue and opportunity to do just that.”

The Sun Devil Club Young Professionals Group (YPG) is a membership-based organization for Arizona State University alumni, fans and donors, ages 21 to 40. Its members are often your "die hard" Devils; they bleed maroon and gold and are looking to build a stronger affinity for Sun Devil Athletics by giving back through philanthropy and collaborative engagement. The SDCYPG offers networking opportunities and several unique, fun, and engaging events throughout the year, some of which include the popular Devils' Ball, an annual golf tournament, and home-game football tailgates! Membership dues are $25/month ($300 annually) for individuals or $30/month ($360 annually) for families; dues help directly support the Sun Devil Club and Sun Devil Athletics.
