About Vince
Volpe currently leads the day-to-day operations of the Sun Devil Club, overseeing all philanthropic giving in support of Sun Devil Athletics. His responsibilities include managing major gift discussions, annual fund initiatives, the letterwinner association, and ensuring a high-quality donor experience.
Before joining Arizona State, Volpe served as Deputy Athletic Director at UTRGV, where he oversaw corporate partnerships, development, marketing and promotions, ticket sales and operations. He also served as the sport administrator for baseball, men’s and women’s golf, and tennis. In addition, he was the department’s liaison to Advancement, Alumni Relations, and University Marketing and Communications, while managing the relationship with Under Armour.
At UTRGV, Volpe played a critical role in driving revenue growth and enhancing the fan experience. Under his leadership, external revenue increased by over 700%, and attendance rose by 470%. These gains helped fund several capital projects, including the Coach Al and Joann Ogletree Plaza, renovations to UTRGV Baseball Stadium, and a rebuild of the UTRGV Fieldhouse Operations Center. Facility upgrades included improved locker rooms, a new concession stand, training and equipment rooms, enhancements to the Orville Cox Tennis Center, expanded office space, and a renovated academic center. These efforts laid the foundation for a $100 million infrastructure plan, directly impacting all sports and enabling the addition of women's swimming & diving and football.
Prior to UTRGV, Volpe was Associate Athletics Director for Development at UConn, where he led capital fundraising, major and annual giving, and strategic revenue initiatives. He also directed the Varsity Club and other development functions for the Huskies.
Before UConn, Volpe served as Associate AD for External Operations at Oral Roberts University, where he managed development, ticketing, and licensing, and was the sport administrator for men's and women's tennis.
Volpe spent six years at the University of Missouri in multiple development roles, culminating in his position as Executive Director of Development & the Tiger Scholarship Fund (TSF). As part of the senior management team, he directed the $150 million Champions for Life capital campaign, annual giving and ticket priority programs, suite lease agreements, and gift-in-kind contributions. He also oversaw 140 endowed scholarships totaling more than $25 million and managed estate and planned giving, also exceeding $25 million. Under his leadership, TSF generated over $20 million in annual revenue.
Volpe began his career at Indiana University, where he was a baseball student-athlete and later worked in athletics administration as a graduate student. He earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2000 and holds both a bachelor's degree in sports management (2002) and a master’s in athletics administration (2003) from Indiana. While pursuing his graduate degree, he served as an associate instructor in the Department of Kinesiology.
He and his wife, Laura—a former gymnastics student-athlete at the University of Missouri—reside in Phoenix with their two sons, Geno and Gavin.
