This fund was created by Gene and Cathy Taylor through his deep understanding of the importance of providing scholarships to student-athletes so they can complete the degree of their choice while competing for Sun Devil Athletics. During Gene's time at Arizona State and as a team manager for both the football and basketball programs, he was able to see the impact that scholarships had on young men and women, who without that scholarship would not have been able to attend ASU based on their financial situation. Not only were these young men and women great athletes that represent ASU at the highest level, they became very productive members of many communities around the country and world upon graduation.
Arizona State University had such a positive impact on Gene, both personally and professionally that he felt it was right to give back to ASU and the athletic program that means so much to him. Gene is a proud ASU alumnus and it is his hope that this scholarship will have the same impact on future Sun Devil Athletes as his scholarship did for him.
